1. Extremely low water absorption and stable size
The saturated water absorption rate is about 2.0%, much lower than that of PA610 and PA612. In outdoor rainy and high humidity environments, the expansion of the pipe is very small, and the inner diameter is stable, ensuring accurate transmission of brake oil pressure and preventing the brake feel from becoming soft or releasing pressure due to water absorption.
High elongation at break, small bending radius, and less prone to brittle fracture when bending the chassis wiring; -Maintaining toughness at a low temperature of 40 ℃, it is less prone to cracking during winter cycling in northern China. It has good resistance to bending fatigue and does not explode after repeated vibration bending.
3. Resistant to brake oil and chemical media
It has good resistance to DOT hydraulic brake oil, lubricating oil, detergent, rain and salt. It is not easy to swell and penetrate after long-term immersion. It is resistant to hydrolysis and aging. Outdoor sun resistance is better than short carbon chain nylon.
4. Smooth inner wall, good pressure barrier properties
The inner wall of the extruded pipe is smooth and the fluid resistance is low; Excellent gas/liquid barrier performance, reducing brake oil and water vapor penetration, and maintaining long-term stability of the hydraulic system.
5. Lightweight
The density is only 1.02 g/cm ³, and the weight of the pipe is light, which meets the lightweight requirements of mountain bikes and road bikes; The extrusion processing window is wide, suitable for continuous extrusion of precision thin-walled tubes.
PA1012 has similar performance to PA12, slightly higher water absorption rate, but lower raw material cost and more stable supply chain, making it a highly competitive alternative to bicycle hydraulic oil pipes.
1. Hydraulic disc brake oil pipe (main purpose)
Hydraulic brake pipelines for road bikes, mountain bikes, and electric assisted bicycles, with a single-layer PA1012 pipe and an outer protective layer that can be wrapped; Enduring high pressure in the brake system, transmitting brake fluid, replacing traditional PA12 oil pipes, with better cost and stable raw material supply.
2. Variable speed line tube lining tube
Mechanical gearbox core, inner lining sleeve with sliding steel wire, low friction inner wall, reduces gearbox resistance, and improves gearbox smoothness.
The outer protective sleeve of the brake/transmission cable is resistant to mud and sand wear, UV, and protects the internal pipelines.
Limitations of PA1012
Basic natural color PA1012 has moderate UV resistance, and outdoor use requires the addition of UV stabilizers;
Not resistant to strong oxidants and concentrated acids;
The high-pressure limit is slightly lower than that of high-end PA12, and multi-layer composite structures (woven reinforcement) are required for high-pressure extreme working conditions.
